The idea for The Thorne Witch novels stems from my desire to create entertaining fiction that provides an immersive escape for readers. Somewhere to hang out until the madness around us subsides. Magic and the supernatural against a contemporary backdrop is the perfect canvas for me. It's what I like to read and what I enjoy writing. I hope you find an escape within the pages of these stories.
A summary of The Thorne Witch Novels:
Every few generations, a witch is born without magic. It’s impossible to discern whether the defect is a result of the infant binding ceremony or an unlucky fluke of nature. Regardless, the results are the same . . . and devastating.
Adeline Thorne was such a witch. But everything changed the night a warlock risked her life—and a peace accord—to save his magic.
Witches and warlocks in the Pacific Northwest have been at peace for more than seventy years. The hard-won accord and the remedies it prescribes have kept the two magical factions in check.
Until now.
The warlock’s assault on Adeline created a hairline crack in the accord’s enamel, threatening the underlying truce. The only thing the witches and warlocks agree on is that a witch should never wield warlock magic. It’s too unpredictable. Too unstable. Too powerful.
In a world of witches and warlocks, the deadliest magic might be the kind never meant to exist.
Adeline Thorne was a witch in name only. She never inherited the magic that should have been her birthright. But she’s learned to accept it. She’s built a quiet life on the west coast as a talented portrait painter, a big sister, loving aunt, and ex-wife. And that was enough. It had to be.
Until a convicted warlock, in an act of desperation, dumped his magic into her. To him, she was only a vessel. He didn’t care that warlock magic was incompatible with her witch’s DNA. He didn’t care that his attack would jeopardize the fragile peace between witches and warlocks. And he didn’t care that his power would tear Adeline’s world apart.
The Never Witch now had magic, an irresistible drug. The only problem? The warlock wants it back.
If you can’t get enough of Rachel Griffin, V.E. Schwab, and Alix E. Harrow, then you’ll love The Never Witch
Witch by birth. Warlock by trade.
Adeline Thorne is a witch. The magic inside her is not.
The warlock magic coursing through her veins is volatile, incompatible with her witch blood, and growing more unstable by the day. When Luke Churchwell, a powerful runecaster, returns and sees how far her magic has spiralled, he steps in to train her—but every lesson is a gamble, and his desire for her may take them both down.
Far across the country, the hexborn are tracking a killer whose trail leads straight to Adeline.
The hunter is closing in. And the secret that created him is deadlier than the man himself.
