Two Christmas Craft Fairs
I’m excited to be attending a double-header this weekend. On Saturday, November 18, from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm, I’ll be at the Qualicum Bay Christmas Market. Then, on Sunday, November 19, from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm, I’ll be at the Union Bay Christmas Craft Fair. There’s plenty of parking at both venues. I love these Christmas markets. It’s my first real taste of the holidays and for me, there’s no better way to ease into the Christmas season. I hope they’re playing Christmas carols!
And speaking of double-headers!
Not only will I be shopping for the perfect gifts for those on my naughty and nice list, but I’ll be set up and offering my new book, Scorch Mark, for sale, along with the other Dark Dreams titles. I’ll also have The Gift Legacy three-book bundles and the full seven-book bundles at discounted pricing. I’m happy to sign or inscribe the books for all the readers on your list.
Drop by and say hello. I’d love to see you. There will be over fifty vendors offering a wide variety of unique hand-crafted items. So come on down, do some Christmas shopping, and go home with your bags full and your spirits lifted. I know I will.
Scorch Mark News
Last Tuesday, November 14th was the release day for Scorch Mark. It was a whirlwind of a day! I was up early updating links on my website and posting on social media. Some of the early reviews are populating on the retail sites and my publicist, Mickey Mikkelson, has kept me busy with podcasts and interviews. You can check them all out on my Media > Featured On page. Paul Semel’s exclusive interview was one of my favourites.
In Other News
Sadly, my internet service is deteriorating. I’m not sure why. Perhaps too many users on the system? Not that the “why” matters. We live in an area on Denman where our choices are dial-up (painfully slow), smart hub/stick (painfully expensive), or satellite (still hurts, but not as much).
Satellite is the best option, but it’s gotten so unstable that I can’t even take a Zoom call without it freezing up every few minutes. If I had a dollar for every time I’ve seen the warning “your internet connection is unstable” I could buy my own satellite. It’s very frustrating. The good news is that fibre optic lines are being installed on the island. We now have the buried line from the road to the house, though it’s not yet inside. A few hydro poles need to be replaced before we can be fully hooked up, and I can’t wait. It’ll be like moving to the grown-up table for Christmas dinner!
But for now, I must get moving and start packing the car for the big double-header weekend ahead. (I’m SO excited!)
Until next time . . .
XO
Jo-Anne
